Comic Relief pool challenge right on cue

R1's very own Bobby 'Backspin' Griffin and Stu 'The Pot' Huke completed a mammoth 24-hour pool challenge, raising over £700.00 in aid of Comic Relief.

The outcome was close, with Stu the eventual winner, taking out 115 frames. Seasoned pros on the pool circuit (local pub only of coarse), the duo played 225 frames of pool in total, starting on Thursday 29th March at 5.00pm and playing through to Friday 30th at 5.00pm. By the final frame, both players were in need of some well earned sleep!

The event was captured via a live webcam which covered the entire 24-hours, allowing sponsors to observe the challenge in real time, throughout the night. Each game was monitored using an online scoreboard.

The event was part of R1's PEACH initiative (Parties, Events and Activities for Charitable Help), an organisation within Response One that combines fun with fund-raising to raise money for local charities. To see previous PEACH activities, click here.

Stuart and Bobby would like to thank all staff, friends/family, and the R1 clients who sponsored the pool challenge.
